The
Mayor's Walk and Roll Richmond--
Walkers, joggers, bicyclists, paddlers and equestrians
of all ages are invited to get active on Saturday,
April 30. Held in conjunction with
the Governor's Virginia Bike Month proclamation at
Brown's Island at 10:00 a.m., the event encourages
Richmonders and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Multiple routes will allow participants to travel
loops starting in downtown Richmond or travel to downtown
from nearby communities. Choose from courses
between 1 mile and 30 miles, with maps available for

Welcome
Reception -- Join the
conference exhibitors for a welcome reception from
5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening. This is a
perfect opportunity to visit with exhibitors and network
with other conference participants. Hors d'oeuvres
and beverages will be served while Urban Jazz
Unit provides entertainment.
Dinner
at Historic Tredegar Iron Works
-- Monday evening a barbeque dinner will be held on
the lawn of the National Park Service's Civil War
Visitor Center at Tredegar Iron Works. Conference
participants can enjoy tours of the National Park
Service's interpretative displays on wartime Richmond.
A bluegrass band will perform. The site is within
walking distance of the Omni (approximately 0.75 mile);
shuttle service will also be available.
Metropolitan
Richmond Greeway Workshop
-- The Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club invites
conference participants to the Metropolitan Richomond
Greenway Workshop on Tuesday evening, May 3, from
7:00 to 9:30 p.m at the Omni. The free workshop,
led by Chuck Flink of Greenways Incorporated, will
introduce the concept of greenways and examine their
benefits. Attendees will review the status of
local greenway initiatives and explore opportunities
for greenway craeation and connection within the region. |
