Pedestrian, Bicycle and Greenway Planning

Workshop participants will be provided with state-of-the-art and emerging methods for analyzing, planning and designing pedestrian, bicycle and greenway facilitites.  This training will discuss user needs and how communities throughout the U.S. and Canada accommodate non-motorized modes into their transportation systems.  This all-day workshop will be lead by national experts, Jennifer toole and Chuck Flink.  Limited to 40 participants.

Safe Routes to School

Mechanized Trail Building

This introduction to building multi-use, sustainable trails with mechanized equipment includes an indoor session on available equipment, safety issues, cost effectiveness and water management.  In a hands-on field session at Pocahontas State Park, you will see a trail dozer and walk-behind skid steer clear duff, build bench cuts and install grade reversals.  Participants will be able to try different pieces of equipment while building trail.  Rich Edwards with IMBA Trails Solutions will lead the workshop.  Limited to 40 participants.
