BikeWalk Alexandria

Alexandria's Voice for Pedestrian and Bicycling Safety

Get involved in making Alexandria better for bicycling and walking!

In 2005, BikeWalk Alexandria became the first chapter of BikeWalk Virginia, the Commonwealth's statewide non-motorized transportation education and advocacy organization. The BikeWalk chapter program is designed to provide outreach and advocacy for local concerns. Through BikeWalk Virginia, chapters share best practices with other localities experiencing similar safety, access, education, health, and environmental issues.

If you live in Alexandria and join BikeWalk Virginia, you are a member of BikeWalk Virginia's Alexandria chapter.

BikeWalk Alexandria represents the concerns of pedestrians and bicyclists to local government officials and citizens of the city. The organization promotes safety through various policy and outreach initiatives. One of the goals of the group is to make Alexandria a more enjoyable community with reduced motorized traffic.

Join BikeWalk Alexandria! Monthly meetings are usually held at St. Elmo's Cafe at 2300 Mt. Vernon Avenue in Alexandria at 7:30 on the first Monday of every other month.
